Evyap, in order to bequeath an environment appropriate
for a happy and healthy living for the future generations,
prefers such technologies directed at the protection
of the ecological balance and more efficient utilization
of natural resources and carries out environmental –
friendly production. It has specified its objectives
and goals for the protection of environment, the minimization
of the adverse impacts of the production operations
to the human health and the environment, the provision
of the health and the occupational safety of the employees
under the established environmental management system,
and has constituted management schedules and programs
for the accomplishment of the goals.
A specific portion of the waste water may be re – used
through the waste water treatment facility erected with
the awareness of environmental respect and sensitivity.
A major portion of the used power is generated by the
power unit.
The environmental works carried out by Evyap were certificated
in 2003 and were awarded with the ISO
14001 Environmental Management System Certificate;
Evyap’s Tuzla Facility was awarded with ISO
(Istanbul Chamber of Industry) 2005 ENVIRONMENT
AWARD. In 2005, its attaching importance
to the employees is certificated with the TS
18001 Work Health and Safety System.

Tuzla Facility was awarded in the category of “Forestry
Products, Paper and Printing Industry” under
the scope of the ‘Environmental Awards’, granted by
ISO (Istanbul Chamber of Industry)
in 14 industries since 1995.
The awards are granted in the direction of the goals
of encouragement for the protection of the environment,
the diminishing of the environmental pollution, the
production of less waste and the orientation to more
environment friendly products and to raise the environmental
awareness in the spheres of activity of the ISO
(Istanbul Chamber of Industry) members.
the Award Criteria;
- Fulfillment of all legal criteria required to be
complied in the environmental field.
- Carrying out operations that are in conformity
with the principles of protection of environment and
of sustainable development in the utilization of natural
resources, power and raw materials.
- Orientation to environment friendly technology
and products.
- Development of systems that diminish the wastes
at the source, that evaluate and recycle the wastes
and that ensures the wastes to be re-used.
- Carrying out works that protect and improve the
environment.
- Carrying out works that improve the environmental
awareness.
The jury consists of the officials from the ministry
and the special provincial administration, the academics
from the related departments of universities, the delegates
of ITO (Istanbul Chamber of Commerce), TSE (Turkish
Standards Institute), ISO (Istanbul Chamber of Industry),
DHKD (Association for Protection of Wild Life), CEKUL
(Foundation for Production and Introduction of Environmental
and Cultural Values) and Turmepa (Turkish Marine Environment
Protection Association).
